DRAFT: not yet reviewed by counsel. This page describes how TeachDay works today, in plain words. It is not in force until a lawyer has reviewed it; notes in [brackets] are open questions for that review.
Terms of service
Draft of October 19, 2026
These terms are between you and Kerfuffle Labs LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company (“we”), and cover your use of TeachDay. If a school or district buys TeachDay for you, its agreement with us also applies, and wins where the two differ.
Your account
- You need to be an adult, signing up for your own teaching (or for your school, with its permission). TeachDay is not for students.
- Keep your email account safe: signing in to TeachDay is by a link sent to it, or through Google or Microsoft.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, and for who you share planbooks with.
Your plans are yours
You own what you put in TeachDay. You give us permission to store it, show it to you and to the people you share it with, and process it to run the features you use (printing, search, standards coverage, and AI features when you use them). We do not use your plans to advertise to you or sell them. You can export everything at any time and delete it when you like.
Please don’t put student records in TeachDay: no rosters, grades or information about individual students beyond what a lesson needs.
Acceptable use
- No breaking the law, infringing others’ rights, or uploading malware.
- No probing other people’s planbooks, overloading the service, or getting around plan limits.
- Materials you attach or post (to Google Classroom, for example) must be yours to share.
Plans, payments and cancelling
- Free is free. Pro is $4 a month or $36 a year, renewing until you cancel. School is $24 per teacher a year, 5-seat minimum, admin seats free, invoiced. Prices are in US dollars and listed here. [Sales tax handling (Stripe Tax) to decide.]
- Cancel any time from Settings, Plan and billing; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. [Refund policy for annual plans.]
- If a paid plan ends, nothing is deleted: planbooks beyond the free plan become read-only, and printing and export keep working.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies to you.
Third-party services
Connecting Google Calendar, Drive or Classroom is optional and also subject to Google’s terms. What you post to Google Classroom is governed by your school’s Google Workspace agreement once it is there.

Availability and changes
We work to keep TeachDay running and your plans safe (nightly backups, a monthly restore drill, and a public status page), but we can’t promise it will never be down. We may change or retire features; if we retire something you rely on, we will tell you ahead of time and make sure you can export your work. [Service level commitments for School and District contracts.]
Ending
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why when we can. Either way you can export your plans first, unless the law stops us.
The legal part
TeachDay is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. [Counsel to draft the warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability and indemnity in full; public-entity customers often cannot indemnify.] These terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. [Venue and dispute resolution.]
